DAY 1


CUSCO-TINKI-UPIS HOT SPRING

We depart Cusco early in the morning by private transport for an approximately four hour drive to Tinki, the start of our trek
 

We start our trek with a gradual ascent, arriving at our lunch spot after three hours. Enjoy dramatic views of Mount Ausangate (6,372m/20,900ft)
 

After lunch, we continue walking for another hour and a half to reach our campsite at Upis (4,400m/14,432ft), situated directly in front of Mount Ausangate
 

Total hiking is about five hours

DAY 2

Upis-Arapa Pass-Ausangatecocha

After breakfast, we continue our ascent for two hours to reach La Arapa pass (4,850m/15,908ft), the first pass of the trek
 

We then descend to our lunch spot, an area consisting of three beautiful lakes of different colours (Pukacocha, Hatun Pukacocha and Qomerqocha) with spectacular views of the surrounding snow peaks
 

After lunch, we continue on a long and slow ascent for another two hours to the second mountain pass, Abra de Apuchata (4,900m/16,072ft)
 

We climb down towards our campsite at Ausangatecocha (4,440m/14,563ft) for the second night
 

Total hiking is about six hours

DAY 3

AUSANGATECOCHA-HUCHUY PHINAYA

We start early by climbing towards the third mountain pass, Abra de Palomani (5,200m/17,056ft), which is the highest part of the trek
 

After descending for another two hours, we reach Pampacancha (4,050m/13,284ft). From here we follow an uphill trail until we reach our campsite for the third day at Qampa (4,300m/14,104ft). Along this easy three-hour climb, we may have the chance to spot llamas, alpacas and maybe even pumas
 

Total hiking is about eight to nine hours

DAY 4

HUCHUY PHINAYA-QAMPA PASS-PACCHANTA

We begin the day with a sustained climb of approximately two hours until we reach Qampa mountain pass (5,000m/16,400ft), the last pass of the trek
 

From here we descend towards the Qomerqocha lagoon to finally arrive at Pacchanta (4,100m/13,448ft) after approximately five hours. Pacchanta is a little community with hot springs where we can enjoy a well-deserved dip
 

Total hiking is about seven hours

 

DAY 5

PACCHANTA- TINQUI-CUSCO

 

 

 

 

 

We leave Pacchanta, making our way back to Tinki which will take approximately 2 hours
 

We board a private transport that will take us back to the city of Cusco, where we estimate to arrive after nightfall.

For bookings made 1-3 months ago, a deposit of 80% of the total amount is required. After confirming the amount received, the travel agency will immediately book all the trips.
